Do I need to be a current tenant of Kips Bay Court to participate?

Not at all, the Beammate platform is for both prospective residents looking for a roommate or roommates, or existing residents looking to replace a roommate.


How does the platform work?

Once you create a profile, you will be directed to our Beammate platform showing all other Beammate platform participant profiles. The platform does not match profiles based on criteria, we simply show you all profiles and it’s up to you to determine who you’d like to message.


Which roommate situation is the Beammate platform suitable for?

All of them. Whether you’re an individual looking for one or multiple roommates, or you are two individuals looking for a third roommate, this platform is built to accommodate all roommate situations. Additionally, current residents who need to replace a roommate are able to utilize the platform as well.


What happens when someone sends me a contact request?

You will receive an email notification of their request, including their profile and an email address, to respond back to directly.


Will my information be shared anywhere outside of this platform?

Absolutely not, the Beammate platform is only available to those who sign up. Your profile will no longer be visible after you have deactivated your account.


Is this a free service?

100% free. Since we know how difficult it can be to find a roommate, we are offering this platform as an easy way for you to find and connect with a future roommate.

How old do I have to be to participate in the roommate matching service?

You must be at least 18 years of age to use our platform.


Who will my information be shared with?

Until you deactivate it, your profile information will be visible to all other profiles on the platform. Your personal email address will only be shared with those to whom you sent a contact request or when you reply to a request.


What should I do after I have found my roommate(s)?

If you are new to the property, check out our available units online at our Kips Bay Court website. You can book a tour directly on the website or call us to book over the phone!

If you are an existing resident, please contact BeamRenewals@beamliving.com to move forward with your new potential roomie!


Are you able to guarantee compatibility?

We are just providing a platform for you to connect you with potential roommates. Only you can determine if they are the right fit for you. The only information we have about potential roommates is the information entered in their profile. We take no responsibility for the accuracy of the information shared with you.


Do I sign an individual lease for only my share of the rent?

All roommates sign the same lease and are jointly responsible for all of the terms and conditions of the lease.


How can I expect to interact with other users of the service?

There are a few rules of engagement that you should be aware of. Do not send money to or share sensitive personal information, such as your social security number, driver’s license number, credit card number, or bank information, with anyone you do not know. Users are prohibited from using the service to send messages that are unwanted or unrelated to the roommate matching service, harass or attempt to market services to other users, or to solicit and/or send spam. Users may not post or share any content or information that is defamatory, obscene, profane, or pornographic, or information that is intended to deceive or mislead other users. How do I disable my account?

Click the “disable profile” button located below your name on the roommate list page. Additionally, if there is no account activity within a 6-month period, your account will be disabled.
